Korcula
Once again Em and I found ourselves at the best camping spot. A healthy 20 minute walk from Korcula's town center and right on the water's edge. Korcula town is another of Croatia's gems. Bizarrely it is famed as the birthplace of Marco Polo despite no evidence ever being found. Regardless, the local shops have used it to their advertising advantage and it is hard to walk a few meters without running into Marco Polo Tours, Marco Polo Travel, Marco Polo Guest House and so it goes on and on. Most of our time here was spent swimming, eating and hanging out with mates - both old and new. We spent a great afternoon and night with our old mate Dean (who we met in Vietnam) who happened to be in town as a tour guide for a boat full of Aussies. We also ran into Robbie and Jen who we first met in Jelsa and again later on in Dubrovnik. Our camp site was full of really cool couples. Craig and Emma from the UK were alot of fun to hang out with, as were an older couple we met from Brussels, Peter and Kristine. They both run a music school and we spent many nights at their camp drinking red wine, made by the campsite gardener who delivered to your tent. They were really cool and even gave us a brand new trumpet which we sadly had to give back the next morning due to having no room to take it with us. It had seemed like such a good idea the night before after a few wines! Patrick and Melanie were another great couple who were doing a 3 week camping trip around the islands. Having so many cool people to hang out with while camping really made Korcula a memorable experience. But sadly, after almost a week enjoying the town and the beach which was directly in front of our tent, the time came to pack up camp, say goodbye to our new friends and take the ferry to Dubrovnik.

Onto Dubrovnik
For the first time in over two weeks we planted our feet onto the mainland and into the port of Dubrovnik. With our backpacks on and the sweat starting to pour, we hopped on the bus and headed for our next camp site. O.K. so we weren't on the water's edge or even properly in view of it, nor was it the great cheap prices of the other camp sites, nor was it close to town ... but our camp site did include the use of the next door hotel's beautiful pool area. Nice. All day we would lounge around the pool tanning, reading and swimming - feeling like kings and queens. We did manage to tear ourselves away from the pool to visit Dubrovnik's old town which was beautiful, very, very touristy, but beautiful all the same. The old town is surrounded by ancient walls and the Adriatic sea and can be seen at many different angles from it's surrounding cliffs. Due to having such a nice pool at our disposal there isn't a whole lot more to tell about Dubrovnik. Next in our journey is Montenegro.

Awwwwwww.

Now why would we want to leave this?

Well maybe for this!
